Electronic Filing and Online Manuscript Submission

Journal of Tourism Sustainability (JTOS) uses an electronic journal management system based on Open Journal Systems (OJS) to administer manuscript submissions, editorial evaluation, peer review, revisions, and publication.

1. Online Submission System

Manuscripts should be submitted through the official JTOS online submission system:

https://jtos.polban.ac.id/jtospolban/about/submissions

Authors who have an active account may log in and follow the available submission steps. Authors should not submit manuscripts to unofficial websites or third-party intermediaries claiming to represent JTOS.

2. Account Registration and Activation

In accordance with the journal's announcement dated 3 October 2025, authors, reviewers, and guest editors requiring a new OJS account or assistance with account access should contact the JTOS editorial team at jtos@polban.ac.id. The editorial team will assist with manual registration and activation.

Authors who already have an active account may use the journal's login page.

3. Preparation of Submission Files

Before submitting, authors must ensure that the manuscript meets the journal's submission requirements and author guidelines. The JTOS submission checklist currently specifies the following:

  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal, unless an explanation has been provided to the editor.
  • The manuscript file is prepared in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF format.
  • Reference URLs are supplied where available.
  • The text is single-spaced, uses a 12-point font and italics rather than underlining except for URL addresses, with figures and tables positioned at the appropriate points in the text.
  • The manuscript follows the journal's stylistic and bibliographic requirements.

Authors should review the latest Submission Preparation Checklist before completing the electronic submission.

4. Submission Metadata

Authors should enter accurate and complete manuscript metadata in the fields provided by OJS, including the article title, abstract, keywords, and the names and institutional affiliations of contributors, as requested by the system. Metadata should be consistent with the submitted manuscript.

Authors are responsible for verifying spelling, author order, affiliations, contact details, and other submitted information before final confirmation.

5. Submission Confirmation and Editorial Communication

Authors should complete every required stage of the OJS workflow and confirm that the submission has been finalized. Saving an incomplete submission does not necessarily constitute a completed submission.

Editorial correspondence, requests for clarification, and revision instructions should be followed through the designated OJS workflow or official journal communication channel. Authors are encouraged to monitor their registered email address and submission dashboard.

6. Revised Manuscripts and Supplementary Files

When revisions are requested, authors should submit the revised manuscript and any requested response documents through the corresponding OJS revision stage, following the editor's instructions. Revised files should be clearly identifiable, and responses should address the reviewers' and editors' comments.

Supplementary materials, where applicable, should be submitted in accordance with the journal's instructions and relevant ethical, privacy, and copyright requirements.

7. Confidentiality and Research Integrity

Authors are responsible for protecting confidential information, personal data, and unpublished research materials included in their submissions. Manuscripts and supporting files must comply with the journal's publication ethics and other relevant policies.

The journal's published privacy statement explains that names and email addresses entered on the site are used for the stated purposes of the journal and are not made available for unrelated purposes.
